My garden was singing the blues for me when I arrived in Positano.
It was all so pretty, so fresh, so calm and quiet apart from the sea and the birdsong that I was moved to tears.
The Dutch irises and the bearded irises flowered simultaneously and their light scent mingled with that of the orange and lemon blossom everywhere.
Bees were all a buzz over the wisteria. We spent the warm days walking along the beach, the mountains or simply playing Scrabble and Rummikub with the kids under the pergola. Occasionally we had to retrieve a tile from the gardens below, flipped there by my over-enthusiastic youngest. All our meals were in the open as the weather was positively balmy. It was always fresh seasonal food and I added sage to any thing I could, given the size of the plant.

I am so envious of your scenery, and rest ;o)
Ah... sigh...so beautiful! What a wonderful show your garden put on for you! I am very happy to hear you had a beautiful and relaxing break with your family. Thank you for sharing the lovely photographs. I can't wait to get back to Amalfi next week and see what has happened in the last three weeks. Spring has really arrived!
Perfect. Thank you. I get a vicarious holiday every time you post.
That wisteria is breathtakingly beautiful.
Simply beautiful. It's a wonder you can tear yourself away.
Sounds like heaven! I love Iris's.
wonderful photos (as always;). Greetings from Warsaw.
Welcome back! I was afraid my reader had lost your blog...
Your garden is a painting! I smelled the wisteria in Sorrento and my mom and sister who dashed down to Pos for Easter said the canopy above the viale del Palazzo is in full bloom, the fragrance is intoxicationg. How I miss it there. Your lovely post brought me there briefly. And that to me is what good blogging is all about.
I wanted to thank you for leaving your kind comment on my blog and wished to reassure you that I will not entirely disappear, I will post a little less and have fewer chances to run through my blogroll every night like I do now.
Ciao and again COMPLIMENTI on the photos.
oh my gosh!!! your wisteria is pure magic...i can only imagine the heady scent...sigh.
Lovely photos! I wish it were a bit more spring-like here on the sunny sky, warm weather front. It keeps raining, whine, moan!
What a beautiful garden!! brava!!
I adore wisteria and sadly it is already almost gone. It's not that beautiful hue anymore all around town. You have a wonderful garden!

Hi Scintilla....How absolutely wonderful and just look at your plants ..Amazing!!!!
A perfect relaxing holiday :-)
Absolutely wonderful, but I wonder how you survive. I am a Brit in Brussels, we have a house in Sicily and I am practically destroyed here through the grey winters. I know my UK climate is no better but after Sicily I have decided in another world I a, from the Med. Fortunately we are of an age where retirement is on the horizon. Apart from that I thoroughly enjoy your blog = continue.
I so love whisteria, and what a stunning backdrop for it!
