In the UK

Best things I heard this week:

I was in the UK and out shopping with my daughter, buying the bare necessities for her new home away from home.
I had a kitchen knife, and a small pot and pan amongst the goods.

When I went to pay, the shop assistant said apologetically,
' Are you over 18 ? Sorry but I'm obliged to ask'.
'Yes, but thank you for the compliment !', I exclaimed flattered.

Later: The Taxi.

A taxi brought us and a myriad of packages, shopping bags, suitcases, and a guitar from the B&B in the city to my daughter's home.

When we got in the car, he asked 'Are you Italian ?'.
'Well, yes' I replied, 'Can you tell?'
'You can tell who is Italian, by the elegant way they dress'.

I had a pair of jeans and a suede jacket on!!!!

They made my day.

Ahhhh yes! Those italian jeans! Out in public I would never be mistaken for an italian...I simply don't look like one...but whenever I go back home they always say that I seem more italian than hawaiian, and it is because of the jeans! LOL!!!

I've been reading for awhile now and really enjoying it. I am from Positano yet can't pinpoint who you are. Crazy uh? Got to your blog via Nicki who so sadly stopped her blog.
Anyway you had 2 major compliments over there.

Good on you to get all those nice compliments; I am sure you deserve them! I love Europe and miss it sometimes; I come to Positano or Luxembourg vicariously via your blog. Thank you for your visit.
May I put your blog on my blogroll, it makes it easier to follow. Take care.T.

Either of those comments would have made my day. Good for you.

Rowena- It's all about context, isn't it?

Dollyna- Glad that you stopped to say hello- you are right we don't know each other.

Titania- And I catch up on Australia in yours!

Casalba- At my age, it doesn't take much to make me happy...

I found your blog by googling info on what happened to Nicki's blog. I was so happy to find another blog about life in Positano! Do you have any idea why Nicki stopped blogging? Is she still in Positano? After reading your blog faithfully for a year I really miss it and hope that she is okay!
