Steps of Positano.

I just had to share this: Italy Vacation are having a contest where the winner has to guess the number of steps in Positano!

Has anyone ever counted all of them? It’s like asking how many stars are there in the sky!

I know the number of steps going from the Grotta to the Fornillo Beach (too many especially uphill at midday); from Via Trara Genoino  (La Scalinatella) to the main beach; from Nocelle in the mountain to Positano and we are well over three thousand but I've never bothered to count all the steps in town.

There must be thousands and thousands.

The winner of the contest will receive a gift of USD $500 to be applied toward your next Homebase Abroad trip to the Coast.

So start estimating the climb over town and submit your answers.

Say I sent you. It won’t help you win, but I can count steps in case of a dispute. May take me a few years though.

For my part I’m going to start contacting all the people named Pasquale and Assunta that I know in town to weasel the answer from them. I will expect them soon at my place, counting stairs right to the very bottom…

Oh I think I know exactly who Assunta and Pasquale are, but I also call this BS, I am sorry. How could anyone know the exact number of ALL steps in Positano.
Marketing, it's what it is, good marketing.
Do we count also steps in Montepertuso, Laurito and Nocelle, as they are part of Positano? And what about Capo d'Acqua ...
Yeah, keep me posted on this.

Success with counting! I slogged up quite a few when I came visiting, but enjoined every step of the way. I never get enough of seeing photos of the Amalfi coast. Wonderful.

Exactly Dollyna! How about the steps in Parco di Fiore, Parco Cascone, down to the schools...what about via Corvo, where I used to live, the steps there go to the top of the mountain! What about the steps that go nowhere on the sides of the road? Where are the confines?
Dollyna, spill, who are P and A?

I have to agree with the earlier commenter's, what are the confines for the count, impossible!?

Hopefully I will visit Positano one day, but it definitely won't be to count the steps....such a gorgeous place! xxoo :)

Ciao Rosa,
I used to remember the number of steps from Mulini to Bar Internazionale, secretly discolsed by an old old ex-mayor of the city, gentlemanly courting my mother at the time. But I've forgotten. Plus maybe new ones have been added, or struck. You're right, the correct answer must be in the millions!

Hey, will you be around at Easter? Hopefully we can meet, as I am taking my little boy to Pos for the holiday.
I've contacted Laura of Ciao Amalfi, and she's in. A blog meet-up?

Think about it. In the meantime,

This week it will be a year since I was in Positano!
Seems like yesterday and a hundred years ago, all at once!

Hope you are well!

I wouldn't even venture to guess the steps except to say "a lot."
